A commercial vehicle safety blitz conducted last week resulted in 25 unsafe vehicles taken off the road.

Brantford Police, in conjunction with Ontario Provincial Police and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, inspected commercial vehicles on April 20 and 21 in Brantford.
A total of 62 vehicles were inspected, with the following infractions:
- 25 vehicles pulled from service due to safety infractions
- 10 vehicles required maintenance
- 6 required a daily inspection
- 4 required an annual inspection
- 3 vehicles had cargo improperly secured
- 3 vehicles resulted in contraband investigations
- 25 vehicles were cited for other infractions
Brantford Police say the effort to increase compliance helps prevent collisions, reduce injuries and save lives.
