The road Highland Historic Commercial Vehicle Road Run returns next weekend.
AROUND 80 vehicles are set to take to the roads of Ross-shire next weekend as a popular commercial vehicle event returns after a two-year hiatus.
The return of the Highland Historic Commercial Vehicle Road Run will also rev up donations for several charities.
The popular event had an enforced two-year break courtesy of the Covid pandemic.
But the head-turning road trip is set to roll out of Dingwall next Saturday (May 7).
One of the organisers, Shirley Mackenzie, said: “This year, we have 80 vehicles taking part.
“We will congregate at Dingwall Auction Mart – with kind permission from management – from 8am on Saturday morning. The cafe will be open for teas/coffees. As usual, the general public are invited to come along to have a look at some vintage and classic commercial vehicles before we depart for Ullapool.”
There is no entry charge.
The vehicles will roll out from Dingwall at 10am heading north to Brora, Lairg, Laxford Bridge and hence to Ullapool.
At Ullapool, a social/fundraising evening will take place for all entrants.
As usual, any excess funds will be donated to charities.
Ms Mackenzie said: “In the past,we have been able to donate to Highland Hospice, Macmillan Nurses, Marie Curie, Chest, Heart and Stroke, Dementia Scotland and Scottish Air Ambulance.”
