The Timmins Police Service is investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred on May 4 shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Spruce Street South at Algonquin Boulevard.

Preliminary investigation has determined that a 48-year-old male cyclist was travelling northbound on Spruce Street South when he came into collision with a commercial motor vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Algonquin Boulevard.

The cyclist was taken to the Timmins and District Hospital with injuries that initially were thought to be more serious.

Traffic Services investigators are looking to speak to the operator of a small passenger vehicle who was travelling eastbound on Algonquin Boulevard at the intersection of Spruce Street at the time of the collision. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
